Diversity Tomorrow, because Today is Amost Over

"Abraham Lincoln once said that if you are a racist I will attack you with the North, and those are the principles that I carry with me in the workplace."

Yes, we have become a 'big business' business and we now have to jump through many more hoops.  The most recent of these being Diversity Training.  Though there were no 'ethnicity cards' or controversy, it was still very interesting.  This video was presented about Jane Elliot, a teacher in the 60's, and her discrimination experiment.

Movie # 6

Due to a certain semi-important football game last week, Katie and I did not make it to the movie.  (Sadly we missed the Odd Couple with Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau, but I've TiVo'ed it and this will be on the top of the list for the Katie and Elizabeth Classic Movie Spectacular!) Both of our husbands wanted to have Superbowl parties and we thought it would be wise to make sure our belongs and our houses survived the night.  Thankfully, everything and everyone came through unscathed.

This weeks movie fell on Valentine's Day, so what better than a classic musical love story?
(I'm not going to rate this one; I don't know anyone who hasn't seen it.)

Freezer Paper Stenciling

Sadly, I have to bring up Facebook. The other day a friend had posted pictures of her sweet, homemade stenciled clothing and a little light bulb went off above my head. This is a fun and very easy project for any age and once again, I must say, I LOVE my Cricut!

I found this great blog, Monday Prints, that has great stenciling instructions, along with a great idea for the future baby shower(s?) I'll be throwing.  Great, right?!

The only thing I do differently is apply 2 coats of paint.  This could depend on what brand of paint you are using.  I also cut out my stencils on the Cricut.  It limits what stencils I can make but it only takes a few seconds to cut them out.  In the future I'll probably branch out and make a few without the Cricut, but that will take a bit more motivation!

Favorite Chicken

We recently started eating A LOT of chicken so I asked the ladies at work to help me out with some new recipes.  Corn Flake chicken was brought up and even though we've made it a few times my good friend Dani let me in on her secret: use Frosted Flakes instead of Corn Flakes.  When made this way you don't need to use any spices.

Movie #4

This 1948 WWII classic features
Clark Gable, Walter Pidgeon, Van Johnson and Brian Donlevy.
Several of the cast members knew the material well, having served in the military themselves during the war. Major Clark Gable flew five combat missions, including one to Germany.  Hitler considered Gable to be quite a prize and offered a very generous reward to anyone able to capture and deliver Gable to him.
Command Decision is considered by many to be the first important fictional work about World War II.  Previous works had focused on the experience of average citizens during the war.  This film focuses on the burdens of leadership, the politics, moral and mental conflicts and the losses.
